Summer Series Results from Mt Richmond

Results from courses: Contour   One   Two   Three   Four

A lovely little map on a lovely evening. We hope you enjoyed tonight, biddy bids excepted. Thank you very much to Allan Janes for his course setting. It was a tricky job getting reasonable courses on a very small map and Allan did a great job, and a first time setter too. The contours course was popular and added a challenge for those prepared to have a go.

It was good to have more overseas visitors with us tonight but we are also having to farewell some who have been with us over summer and are starting to head home - it has been great having you with us - we wish you safe journeys home and hope to see you back again some time in the future.

Lost property from tonight - a pair of sun glasses left on the table and a watch at the finish - give us a call or send an email if these are yours.

We have a message from Bert Chapman who is planning the event at Muriwai on March 5. Keep this date free and be ready to have a sausage or two after the event as there will be a barbeque going. We'll have a full description of the event including the available courses next week.

Next week is another Wednesday event, on the 1st of the month of March. This is on the Auckland Domain map and we'll be starting near the band rotunda. This is the first of the Secondary Schools events so we expect many more competitors and so there will probably be dual starting. By this we mean that the schools competitors can start at the same time as the summer series competitors. The courses, although with the same names are slightly different.

After our Wednesday event next week, the last two events will be on Thursdays, the 9th at Blockhouse Bay and the final summer series event at One Tree Hill on March 16.

It was great to have Peter Snell with us last week and just wonderful to have him be selected as New Zealands sportsman of the century. Congratulations Peter from all the Summer Series orienteers. We were all just delighted when you were selected. We were also very encouraged by your message of exercise for all, in particular as age increases. What better exercise than orienteering?
