Results from courses: One Two Long Two Short Three Four

A bit of a wet lead up to the evening (in fact a dramatic thunder and lightning storm while our setter and controller were out on the mountains putting out controls) However for those who were not frightened off, the evening turned out to be quite steamy hot and dry. It was great that some ventured out to enjoy the courses that Tim and David had constructed for you. I even got to have a run around one of them tonight so can thank them both from personal experience!

We were left one small key tonight that looked a bit like a locker key. Please let us know if it is yours or claim it next week.

The event next week is again on Wednesday, in the old favourite map, the Auckland Domain, starting form the grandstand. However your course setter next week has decided to add a little spice for those of you doing the longer courses. Instead of running backwards and forwards around the Domain all night they are taking you through the Hospital, University and Albert Park – Should be fun!

Also next week Rob Jessop, the reigning National Champion, is going to run a short coaching session for anyone who is feeling frustrated that they are not managing to find their way straight to some of those elusive controls on the more complex maps such as Mt Eden. To navigate around the details volcanoes you do need a few more orienteering skills than when you are on the straightforward maps, and no one could be better equipped to teach you these skills than Rob. The session will begin at 7.00pm so come along and have your run first, telling registration that you would like to take part when you return.
